6. Scratch Criteria Table
6.1 Single Vision Lens
 
Case 1 If scratch is found in Zone <1> - not acceptable
Case 2 If scratch is found near Zone <2> but still on Zone <1> or on Zone <2>
i) Scratch’s length is less than 10% of the total diameter of the lens - acceptable
ii) The scratch can only been seen when moving the lens under florescent light acceptable
Case 3 If the scratch is in Zone <3> - acceptable
6.2 Bifocal and Progressive Lens
 
Case 1 If scratch is found in Zone <1> - not acceptable
Case 2 If scratch is found near Zone <2> but still on Zone <1> or on Zone <2>
i) Scratch’s length is less tan 10% of the total diameter of the lens - acceptable
ii) The scratch can only be seen when moving the lens under fluorescent
light - acceptable
Case 3 If scratch is found on Zone <2> or <3> but at near vision zone - not acceptable

Note: Zone <1> Diameter 45mm
  Zone <2> the rest of the area after <1> and <3>
  Zone <3> 5mm in from the edge
