Power Check-up | Eye Vision Test

The refraction test, also known as eye vision test, is an examination that tests an individual’s ability to see an object at a specific distance. It is done as part of a routine eye check-up, to determine whether you need for glasses or contact lenses to correct a refractive error. The test must be taken under the instruction of a professional optometrist, including looking through a device called a phoropter to read letters or recognize symbols on a wall chart through lenses with different power (contained within the device). If you need to wear glasses to improve visual acuity, our optometrist will recommend a suitable lens power. The common types of refractive error are myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia and astigmatism.

Swisscoat suggests taking refraction test every 1-2 years. If your vision becomes blurry, or there are any noticeable changes, you should schedule an appointment with an eye care practitioner immediately.
